The Peasant and the Wolf

2024, ceramics DKB Bechyně, epoxy kompozites, steel, 148 x 68 x 68 cm.

The statue embodies the traditional dual conflict of good and evil. The ceramic figure of the peasant is a manifestation of the social rationalism of the 1930s. Although I tend to embrace more general and timeless stories in my work, I couldn’t resist using this sculpture to vent my feelings about the war in Ukraine. The emphasis on the yellow and blue colours therefore has a direct symbolic meaning.
